过氧化物交联聚乙烯采用高分子量高密度聚乙烯塑料，通过使用过氧化物交联剂，在高温、高压下，在聚乙烯的长分子链间产生化学键，实现化学交联，使之成为三维网状结构，从而使材料的性能具有了本质的变化，大大提高了其耐热和抗蠕变能力，同时其耐老化性能、力学性能和透明度等均大大提高，交联度越高，性能的提高就越为明显，且兼具有聚乙烯管材固有的耐化学腐蚀性和柔韧性，使其优良的耐温、耐压、抗蠕变性能成为管材中的佼佼者。
